Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant.
As a crucial member of our clinic, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-notch care to our animal patients.
The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, possesses strong communication skills, and is eager to contribute to the overall success of our veterinary practice.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist in the handling and restraint of animals during examinations and procedures.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors of animal patients.
Provide post-operative care and administer medications as directed by the veterinary team.
Clinical Support:
Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for procedures.
Sterilize and maintain veterinary instruments and equipment.
Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Client Interaction:
Communicate with pet owners regarding care instructions, post-operative procedures, and medications.
Provide a comforting and informative presence to clients during their visits.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing paperwork.
Animal Handling and Comfort:
Ensure a safe and clean environment for animals in the clinic.
Comfort and soothe animals during their time in the clinic.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide comprehensive care.
Assist with training and mentoring new staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Passion for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and restraining animals.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
